Sundern’s most beautiful interconnected ski area leads around the Schomberg. The groomed ski slopes, from easy to moderately difficult, are suitable for all ages. There is a separate practice slope with ski school lift for children and beginners.

A total of five lifts take you up to the highest point in the town of Sundern. You can either enjoy the view from the Schomberg tower or ski down into the valley on the 11 different runs.

For all snowboarders, we recommend the Gnurren lift with a special run for snowboarders.

Veltins ice arena in Winterberg

Winterberg has a long tradition of bobsleighing. There has been a first bobsleigh run made of natural ice since 1910.

In 1977, the new artificial ice track was opened and in 1986, the finish was changed and the track was upgraded to a high technical level. The 776m high ice track is considered to be one of the fastest in the world. Top speeds of up to 150 km/h are possible thanks to the famous “Kreisel” or “Omega” curve. Bobsleigh, luge and skeleton championships are held here regularly.
